Type Locality and Naming
Partizansk depression of southern Primorye Basin (S-12; E of Vladivostok). Lower formation of the Suchan Gr.
Synonym: Stary Suchan Fm (which is the actual name; but merged as StarySuchan here to avoid Lexicon software confusing with the Severny Suchan Fm (termed SevernySuchan Fm here).
Lithology and Thickness
Conglomerates, sandstones, siltstones with coal beds with a total thickness of up to 600 m.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
Disconformably overlies the Klyuchi Fm
Upper contact
Conformably overlain by the Severny Suchan Fm (termed SevernySuchan Fm here).

Fossils
It yields non-marine bivalves Unio tudagouensis, U. vangardensis, fossil plants Polypodites verestchagini, Cladophlebium dahuricum, Cladophlebis novopokrovskii, Nilssonia ex gr. brongniarti, Araucariodendron oblongifolium, Elatides asiatica, Zamiopsis dentata (Turbin, 1994; Markevich et al., 2000). The lower part of the formation contains a spore-pollen assemblage with Cicatricosisporites multicostatus, Trilobosporites mirabilis, Concavissimisporites cariverrucalus, Stenozonotriletes divulgatus (Turbin, 1994; Markevich et al., 2000). The upper part of the formation yields an assemblage with Gleicheniidites, Cicatricosisporites, Trilobosporites, Concavissimisporites, Impardecispora (Turbin, 1994; Markevich et al., 2000).
